The Roborock RockMow X1 is an all-wheel-drive robot mower that navigates by RTK satellite positioning, sold in two sizes: the X115H for 0.37 acre and the X130H for a full acre. It shares the X1 LiDAR’s sophisticated chassis, with active steering, suspension and an 80% slope rating, at a lower price per square foot. The trade-off is an RTK reference station you have to install, and the fact that, as of October 2026, we haven’t found a single independent review of it.
Who the Roborock RockMow X1 is for (and who should skip it)
The X1 suits open, sloped lawns where the sky is mostly unobstructed: a hillside backyard, a sloped front lawn without big trees, or an acre of rolling grass. With the X115H listed in the mid-range tier, it’s one of the cheapest ways to get AWD and an 80% rating, and the X130H covers an acre for the price of many half-acre rivals. SmartRobotReviews’ Roborock lineup guide picks the X115H as the “best 4WD value” and notes the X130H is the only current US Roborock mower rated for an acre.
Skip it if your lawn sits under mature trees or between tall buildings. RTK needs a clean satellite view, and the RockMow X1 LiDAR exists for exactly that problem. Skip it if you want a mower with a proven track record, because this one has none yet. And if your lawn is flat, you’re paying for an AWD chassis you won’t use.
Navigation and setup
Roborock calls the system Sentisphere: full-band RTK fused with VSLAM, backed by quad-vision cameras for obstacle avoidance. RTK delivers centimeter-level positioning and straight mowing lines when it has a clean signal. The VSLAM cameras are meant to keep it on course when the signal weakens. Roborock claims it holds its course under dense trees and fits through 2.6 ft (about 31”) passages, but those are manufacturer claims that no outlet has tested on this model.
Setup means placing the dock and the RTK reference station. Techwalla, citing hands-on testing of a related Roborock model, notes the RTK antenna needs an open spot with a clear view of the sky, at least two meters (about 6.5 ft) from walls and trees, standing upright. That’s the main setup constraint, and on a small, fenced lot it can be a real one. Our setup guide and navigation explainer cover antenna placement and why RTK struggles near obstructions.
As with the LiDAR model, Roborock’s product page marks AI auto mapping, some obstacle-avoidance behaviors, pattern mowing and multi-zone management as coming “via an upcoming OTA update.” Expect manual boundary mapping at first.
Mowing performance, slopes and terrain
On paper, the terrain hardware is among the best at this price. All four wheels are driven, a patented active steering system turns the front wheels rather than skidding, and dual-spring suspension with a floating cutting deck keeps the cut even over bumps. Roborock rates it for 80% slopes (38.7°) and 3.1” obstacles.
No reviewer has confirmed those figures on the RTK X1. The LiDAR sibling on the same chassis earned early praise from the Smart Home Hookup for its front steering and cut quality, which is encouraging but not proof. Manufacturer slope ratings assume dry, short grass, so measure your yard with the slope checker and read our slope limits guide before relying on 80%.
Coverage, cutting and edges
Roborock doesn’t publish deck width or noise level, which makes it hard to judge how quickly the X130H can actually maintain an acre. The six-blade, double-layer cutting disc adjusts from 1.6” to 3.5”. That suits most lawns, though the 1.6” minimum is higher than some rivals if you mow warm-season grass short.
Edging works the same way as on the LiDAR model. The optional PreciEdge module reaches 1.2” from boundaries, while open, flat borders can be mowed with a ride-over pass. Without the module, Techwalla’s estimate for the X1 platform is about 4” left uncut along walls and beds. US module pricing hadn’t been confirmed as of October 2026.
App, connectivity and anti-theft
Anti-theft matches the LiDAR version: 4G real-time tracking (the mower must be powered on), a PIN lockout, a high-decibel alarm if it’s lifted or leaves its fence, and third-party tracker compatibility. The Roborock app includes a live progress dashboard and a wildlife-friendly mode that pauses mowing during set hours. It’s rated IPX6 and returns to the dock when its rain sensor trips. See our theft protection guide.
Ownership notes
- No reviews yet: buy from a retailer with an easy return window, and test slopes and tree-edge areas during the first weeks.
- Pricing: Roborock’s US list prices put the X115H in the mid-range tier and the X130H in the premium tier; we haven’t verified discounts. Check today’s price and watch for sales.
- Extras: budget for the PreciEdge module and spare blades.
- RTK caveat: if you move the reference station later, expect to check or redo your map, as with most RTK mowers.
- Brand: Roborock is a major robot-vacuum maker, but its mower support history in the US is only one season old.
How the Roborock RockMow X1 compares
The Segway Navimow X4 is the proven choice for an acre of hills: an 84% rating, a 17” deck, network RTK that often needs no antenna, and the top score in our database, with the 1-acre X430 priced about the same as the X130H. For smaller lawns, the Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD covers the same 0.37 acre as the X115H with LiDAR navigation and an 80% rating, at a mid-range price. Roborock’s own RockMow X1 LiDAR is the pick if trees are your problem.
| RockMow X1 (X130H) | Navimow X4 (X430) | RockMow X1 LiDAR | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Navigation | RTK + base station + vision | Network RTK + vision | LiDAR + vision |
| Max area | 1 acre | 1 acre | 0.5 acre |
| Max slope | 80% (~39°) | 84% (~40°) | 80% (~39°) |
| Price tier | $$$ | $$$ | $$ |

Bottom line
The RockMow X1 pairs an impressive AWD chassis with conventional RTK navigation and aggressive pricing, especially the mid-range X115H. For an open, hilly lawn it’s a promising option, and for a shady one it’s the wrong tool. Until independent reviews arrive, the better-tested Navimow X4 and LUBA mini 2 AWD are safer bets at similar money. If you do buy the X1, buy where returns are easy.
