eufy Robot Lawn Mower E15 / E18 video review
Video by Freshly Charged on YouTube. Independent creator content, shown as a reference. It is not part of our scoring.
The eufy E15 and E18 are the most plug-and-play robot mowers you can buy. There’s no wire, no antenna and no base station to plant, just cameras, AI and a polished app, and TechRadar called the E15 “the easiest to set up and use” of the wire-free mowers its reviewer had tested. That simplicity comes from camera-only navigation, which is also its weakness: shade, complex layouts, damp grass and slopes all expose the limits. Buy one for a simple, flat, small lawn, and it’ll be the least fussy robot you can own.
Who the eufy E15 / E18 is for (and who should skip it)
It’s for owners of a flat, open, small lawn (up to about 0.2 acre for the E15 or 0.3 acre for the E18) who value easy setup over everything else. Tom’s Guide put it bluntly: the E15 is best for people in dry climates with “well maintained lawns with no obstacles/holes,” and it called the mower one “for already immaculate lawns only.”
Skip it if:
- Your lawn has slopes. eufy rates it for 18°, about 32% grade, and rear-wheel drive limits grip.
- Grass is often damp. Tom’s Guide saw it slip on dewy grass on a flat lawn.
- Your yard is complex, shady or bumpy. Multiple zones, heavy shade and holes all challenge camera-only navigation.
- You want night mowing. Cameras need light.
Navigation and setup
The E15 and E18 use eufy’s V-FSD system: stereo cameras plus AI that tell grass from beds, paths and obstacles by texture and height. No RTK, no LiDAR. Our navigation explainer compares the approaches.
Setup is the big win. TechRadar said it took “all of about 15 minutes,” with the mower automatically mapping the lawn edges. Tom’s Guide also found setup easy and the app good at teaching the basics, though mapping needed some help. The reviewer had to drive the mower remotely to set a path from the dock to the lawn and across a concrete path that split the yard. The resulting map missed some grass and marked two patches of slightly longer grass as obstacles. Reviewed gave the E18 its Editor’s Choice for easiest setup and use, praising the app and no-go zones. Our setup guide covers dock placement and first-run checks.
The downside of cameras: TechRadar notes it can’t mow after sunset, and performance depends on light.
Mowing performance, slopes and terrain
The cut itself is good. TechRadar described “pristine parallel stripes,” and Tom’s Guide said it cut “effectively and evenly,” finishing an 893 sq ft lawn in about 70 minutes. At 56 dB, it’s one of the quietest mowers here.
Terrain is where it falls down. eufy rates the E15/E18 for 18°, about 32% grade, on rear-wheel drive with a caster up front. Tom’s Guide found the wheels’ firm plastic finish “slips on anything but dry grass,” and the mower repeatedly got stuck on damp grass and on a small, refilled dog hole on a flat lawn. After being moved, it restarted the job and left a patch uncut until later. Reviewed also noted it “occasionally gets stuck at landscape edges” and that “cutting can be patchy.” Read our slope limits explainer before buying for anything but flat ground.
Obstacle avoidance gets mixed reports. Reviewed called it great, while Tom’s Guide was unimpressed after the repeated snagging. TechRadar flagged one expected issue with small obstacles.
Coverage, cutting and edges
The deck is 8” wide with motorized height adjustment from 1” to 3”. Rated coverage is 0.2 acre (E15) or 0.3 acre (E18), but real-world coverage tends to fall short on lawns that aren’t simple rectangles. Tom’s Guide notes eufy sells extra base stations that can act as repeaters to extend range.
Edges are inconsistent. eufy says the mower can straddle up to about 6” over a flat edge. TechRadar saw it finish each job with an edge pass, but Tom’s Guide found it left the edges along a center path uncut even though the mower could cross that path. Plan on regular trimming. Like other mulching robots, it leaves fine clippings on the lawn.
App, connectivity and anti-theft
The eufy app is a highlight. Reviewed called it “very good,” and TechRadar noted you can drive the mower like an RC car and watch a live camera feed. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G, with GPS + 4G tracking for theft protection. TechRadar lists the 4G SIM as optional, so confirm what’s included. See our theft protection guide.
Ownership notes
- Garage included. TechRadar notes it ships with a roofed garage for the dock, which shields it from sun as well as rain. Both are IPX6.
- Rain sensor. It returns to the dock when it detects rain. See our rain guide.
- Brand support. eufy is an Anker brand, and reviewers praised the build quality.
- Pricing. List prices have run much higher than street prices. Expect a budget-tier price for the E15 and a mid-range price for the E18, and watch for sales.

The Segway Navimow i105N / i110N costs less and adds satellite positioning while still skipping the antenna, so it’s more reliable on irregular lawns. The ANTHBOT M9 is also budget-tier and handles 45% slopes, but you’ll install an antenna. For shady yards, the Navimow i215 LiDAR is the more robust choice.

Bottom line
If your lawn is a simple, flat, dry rectangle, the eufy E15 or E18 is the easiest robot mower to live with: quick to set up, very quiet and backed by a great app. If your yard has slopes, shade, holes or lots of zones, camera-only navigation will cost you time and patience, and a network-RTK or LiDAR mower is the better buy. It sits at the budget-to-mid-range end of the market, and prices change often, so check today’s price.
